The Gilfenklamm Gorge in Racines

Rio Pusteria Close
The Rio Pusteria Close used to be a toll and close facility in the Middle Ages. It was first mentioned in a document of Earl Friedrich von Rodank for the first time. It has been proven that since 1288 a toll had to be paid at the close. Being also a close for the valley it also was an army fortress, which had been vainly besieged by Michael Gaißmair. During the freedom fights of Tyrol in 1809, battles between the Tyrolean freedom fighters and the French general Rusca also took place here.
